ANALISIS BERITA HOAX FACEBOOK PADA PERILAKU MASYARAKAT KELURAHAN PANIKI II KECAMATAN MAPANGET KOTA MANADO

Abstract

This research was conducted in Paniki II Village, Mapanget Sub-District of Manado City by focusing on Facebook hoax news in the religious and political fields with the main problems being examined are: 1) What is the message content conveyed in Facebook hoax news ?; 2) How does Paniki II kelurahan community respond to the contents of Facebook hoax news messages? And 3) What are the effects or consequences of beritahoax for the behavior of Paniki II Kelurahan? The aim is to find out the contents of the message conveyed in Facebook hoax news; to find out how Paniki II urban community responds to the contents of Facebook hoax news messages; and to find out the effects or consequences caused by beritahoax for the behavior of Paniki II Kelurahan. The method used is a qualitative research method.
The results of this study indicate that Facebook hoax news content generally involves lies about political, religious, racial, ethnic, cultural, beauty and health products. But the most dominant in the news since 2018 until February 2019 is facebook hoax related to political and religious issues. The form of Facebook hoax is generally in the form of photos or images, vodeos and narratives or news.
The way the Paniki II Kelurahan community responds to the content of political and religious messages that appear on Facebook hoax news is by looking for similar news references from the official website; For hoaxes in the form of images, check back on authenticity on Google Image; Look at the site address; Thorough in reading information; Check facts; and Do not share articles, photos or chain messages without reading and believing the truth; Share stories with friends or neighbors, ignore the news of the hoax and check the truth of the information to other parties or on the internet; Browse carefully the source of the news; Respond naturally and not excessively; Not spreading it and taking it only as a joke and not serious; Don't believe but straighten it; and follow the demands of the government to combat hoaxes through the media by campaigning for positive news through social media.
The effect or effect of a hoax contains two elements, namely: The positive element is through hoax news or hoaxes on Facebook, people can be more careful in using social media and can also develop social relations and the presence of hoaxes helps people get provoked to communicate with each other with other people. The negative element is that the Facebook hoax news raises anxiety and worries and hatred between one person or institution with another person or institution; affect mentally, mindset and action patterns especially for children who are not mentally mature; and the existence of public deception in the realm of social networking and its effects can threaten life togetherness.
