KEADAAN SOSIAL EKONOMI PETANI RUMPUT LAUT DI DESA NAIN KECAMATAN WORI KABUPATEN MINAHASA UTARA

This study aims to describe the socio-economic conditions of seaweed farmers in Nain Village and also to examine seaweed business as one of the jobs that can support the survival of coastal communities in Nain Village. The social aspects of society generally consist of aspects of education, religion, age, health, number of dependents and housing. While the economic aspect consists of business capital, marketing, income and expenses. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative which can be understood as a series of procedures used in solving a problem being investigated/researched by describing the current state of the research object based on the facts in the field. The results of the research on the social conditions of seaweed farmers in Nain Village, among others, more than 50% of seaweed farmers have high school education, 45% of seaweed farmers already have work experience for 16-30 years with ages belonging to the productive age. In addition, farmers also have the highest family dependents, there are 5 people (10%). The results of seaweed cultivation in Nain Village are marketed to collectors, then these collectors market them to PT. Source of fortune. The selling price of seaweed to collectors is Rp.7000/kg and the selling price to the company is Rp.8000/kg. The average total income of seaweed farmers is Rp. 8,430,000/harvest with an average monthly expenditure of Rp. 3.158.000

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran keadaan sosial ekonomi petani rumput laut di Desa Nain dan juga untuk mengkaji usaha rumput laut sebagai salah satu pekerjaan yang mampu menunjang kelangsungan hidup masyarakat pesisir di Desa Nain. Aspek sosial masyarakat umumnya terdiri atas aspek pendidikan, agama, umur, kesehatan, jumlah tanggungan keluarga dan perumahan. Sedangkan aspek ekonomi terdiri atas modal usaha, pemasaran, pendapatan dan pengeluaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah bersifat deskriptif kualitatif yang bisa dipahami sebagai serangkaian prosedur yang digunakan dalam memecahkan suatu masalah yang diselidiki/diteliti dengan menggambarkan keadaan obyek penelitian pada saat sekarang berdasarkan fakta-fakta yang ada di lapangan. Hasil penelitian keadaan sosial petani rumput laut di Desa Nain antara lain lebih dari 50% petani rumput laut sudah berpendidikan Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA), 45% petani rumput laut sudah memiliki pengalaman kerja selama 16-30 tahun dengan usia yang tergolong dalam usia produktif. Selain itu petani juga memiliki tanggungan keluarga paling tinggi terdapat 5 orang (10%). Hasil usaha budidaya rumput laut di Desa Nain dipasarkan kepada pedagang pengumpul selanjutnya pedagang pengumpul ini memasarkannya kepada PT. Sumber Rejeki. Harga jual rumput laut ke pedagang pengumpul Rp.7000/kg dan harga jual di perusahaan Rp.8000/kg. Total pendapatan rata-rata petani rumput laut Rp 8.430.000 /panen dengan rata-rata pengeluaran per bulannya Rp. 3.158.000.
