Abstract

Research aims to test the working capacity and field efficiency of the Kubota Hand Tractor Type RD 110 DI-2T on dry land cultivation using rotary plow implants. The research was carried out from October to December 2024 at the Sam Ratulangi University Agricultural Experimental Garden, Wailan Village, Tomohon City. The method used was direct observation with a three-replica experimental design. Each experimental unit is in the form of a plot of land measuring 20 m x 6 m which is processed using a reciprocating pattern. The main parameters measured include tractor travel time and turning time, engine rotation speed (RPM), diesel fuel consumption, wheel slip, tillage depth, and soil moisture content. Soil moisture content measurement is carried out by the standard gravimetric method, which is to dry the soil sample in an oven at 105°C for 24 hours until a constant weight. Performance data was analyzed by calculating Theoretical Field Capacity (KLT), Effective Field Capacity (KLE), and Field Efficiency (EL). The calculation of wheel slip is carried out based on the comparison of wheel mileage in loaded and unloaded conditions. All measurement data is then analyzed descriptively to obtain the average value and percentage of each parameter tested. The results of the study are expected to provide quantitative information about the actual performance of the hand tractor in the specific field conditions of the study site, which is useful for users and policy makers in the field of agricultural mechanization.
