Abstract

Research aims to estimate the rate of erosion in the Pulisan Bay area, East Likupang District, North Minahasa Regency. The research used the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) Method, which began with a review of the hilly topography and high rainfall conditions that have the potential to cause land degradation. A field survey was conducted on approximately ± 4 ha of land, with soil samples collected using Purposive Sampling at 16 points based on land units. The analyzed factors included: rainfall erosivity (R), soil erodibility (K), slope length and steepness (LS), land cover (C) such as mixed vegetation, and conservation practices (P). Results showed an average annual rainfall erosivity value of 1,603.19 (high category) and predicted erosion rates ranging from 0.12 to 582.98 tons/ha/year. Pulisan Bay area exhibited erosion hazard levels ranging from very low to very high, indicating the need for conservation techniques such as vegetation reinforcement, proper land-use management, and other erosion control measures to maintain land sustainability and support long-term environmental conservation.
