Abstract

Musculoskeletal complaints are complaints in the skeletal muscles felt by a person. Factors that can cause musculoskeletal system complaints include awkward work postures, repetitive movements and work periods. If musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are not immediately treated and prevented, this can hinder the work process, especially for jobs using high work strength. This study aims to determine the relationship between work posture and musculoskeletal complaints in fish transfer crews. This study is an analytical survey study with a cross-sectional study design. This study was conducted on ship crews at the Tumumpa Fish Auction Pier. The research period was April - May 2025. There were 35 ship crews who were the subjects of the study, using the lemeshow formula for sample determination. The results of the chi-square test obtained a p-value for the relationship between work posture and musculoskeletal complaints of 0.000 and a p-value for the relationship between work periods and musculoskeletal complaints of 0.000. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between work posture and musculoskeletal complaints in fish transfer crew members at the Tumumpa Fish Auction Pier and there is a relationship between work period and musculoskeletal complaints in fish transfer crew members at the Tumumpa Fish Auction Pier.
