Abstract

There are still many parents who don't know that a child's fine and gross motor skills need to be trained and developed all the time through various daily activities. The aim of this research is to determine the characteristics of clumsiness, how to handle clumsiness, and the obstacles experienced by teachers in dealing with clumsiness. The results of a preliminary study on children Group A at Children Centre Brawijaya Smart School, there were children who appeared to have difficulty carrying out fine motor activities, for example, writing, drawing, or self-help activities, for example, dressing, buttoning shirts or trousers. This research used a qualitative approach. The type of research used is case study research. The subject of this research was a child with the initials DF who studied at the Children Center Brawijaya Smart School. The data collected techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. This research used data analysis techniques with an interactive model according to Miles and Huberman which consists of four stages, data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The research showed that children still need help carrying out these activities. The teacher's method of handling provides motivation and opportunities for children to try. The obstacles experienced by teachers in overcoming them are that children often say "don't want to" or "can't" and children sometimes cry. It is hoped that future research will be able to create game tools to deal with children who experience clumsiness disorders.

 

ABSTRAK

Banyak orang tua yang belum mengetahui bahwa keterampilan motorik halus dan kasar seorang anak perlu untuk dilatih dan dikembangkan setiap saat melalui berbagai aktivitas sehari-hari. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui karakteristik clumsiness, cara penanganan clumsiness dan hambatan yang dialami guru dalam menangani clumsiness. Hasil studi pendahuluan pada anak Kelompok A di TK Children Centre Brawijaya Smart School, terdapat anak tampak kesulitan melakukan kegiatan motorik halus, misalnya menulis, menggambar atau kegiatan menolong diri, contohnya berpakaian, mengancingkan baju atau celana. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian studi kasus. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah  seorang anak berinisial DF yang sekolah di Children Centre Brawijaya Smart School UB. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data dengan model interaktif menurut Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri atas empat tahapan, yaitu tahap pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa anak masih perlu dibantu saat melakukan kegiatan-kegiatan tersebut. Cara penanganan yang dilakukan guru yaitu memberi motivasi dan kesempatan kepada anak untuk mencoba. Hambatan yang dialami guru untuk mengatasinya yaitu anak sering mengatakan “tidak mau” atau “tidak bisa” dan anak terkadang menangis. Penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan dapat menciptakan alat permainan dalam mengatasi anak yang mengalami gangguan clumsiness.
