Indonesia's coastal areas encompass important ecosystems such as mangroves, seagrass beds, and coral reefs, which play a role in supporting capture fisheries productivity. However, ecosystem degradation due to human activities has the potential to reduce habitat quality and the availability of fish resources for traditional fishermen. This study aims to assess the condition of the coastal ecosystem in Lakudo Village and analyze its role as an ecological foundation for traditional fishermen's capture fisheries productivity. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Primary data were obtained through semi-structured interviews with traditional fishermen and field documentation, while secondary data came from village reports and scientific publications. Data analysis was conducted thematically to identify the socio-ecological relationships between coastal ecosystem conditions and fisheries productivity. The research results indicate that seagrass beds and coral reefs continue to support capture fisheries, while the presence of mangroves at the study site is relatively limited. Fishers have also reported a downward trend in their catch over the last three years, which is attributed to an increase in the number of fishers and competition for the utilization of fish resources. The results of the study are expected to support sustainable coastal resource management and strengthen local community food security.
