Abstract: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic and multisystem disease that has reached epidemic proportions and is prone to cardiovascular complications due to dyslipidemia. Lipid profile, especially LDL cholesterol level, plays an important role in evaluating the risk of T2DM. This study aimed to determine the relationship between fasting blood glucose (FBG) level and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) level in patients with T2DM at the ODSK Hospital, North Sulawesi Province. This was an observational and analytical study with a cross-sectional design. This study used secondary data from medical records of T2DM patients at the ODSK Hospital, North Sulawesi Province in the period July 2023 to July 2024. The results obtained 61 patients with T2DM as samples who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The Spearman-Rank correlation test analysis obtained a p-value of 0,435 for the relationship between FBG and LDL levels. In conclusion, there is no significant relationship between fasting blood glucose and low-density lipoprotein in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients.
