ABSTRACT
Adolescence is a period that considered susceptible of nutrition, they usually have a lot of activity outside, so it is often forgotten mealtime. Foods that contain carbohydrates, fats, and proteins are used as an energy source. Boys have higher energy and protein requirement than girls because their height and lean body mass (fat reserves) are larger during puberty. The purpose of this research was to analyze the relationship between energy intake and nutritional status on student SMP Negeri 10 Manado. This research is observational analytic research with cross sectional study design. The research was conducted in SMP Negeri 10 Manado from August to October 2015. The population in this research were 654 students of grade VIII and IX SMP N 10 Manado. Samples in this research were 248 students that taken by systematic random sampling. The research instrument is a measuring tool height, weight, Food Recall 24-hour questionnaire and Food Frequency Questionnaire. The data analysis is univariate and bivariate analysis using Spearman correlation test. The results showed that there is relationship between energy intake with BMI / U (p <0.05). Most of the respondents belong to the category of nutritional normal status BMI / U is numbered 197 students (79%) and nutritional normal status by TB / U amounts to 242 students (98%). Additionally amounts 196 students (79%) have a good energy intake.

ABSTRAK
Usia remaja merupakan periode yang dikategorikan rentan gizi, mereka biasanya mempunyai banyak aktivitas di luar rumah, sehingga sering melupakan waktu makan. Makanan yang mengandung karbohidrat, lemak, dan protein digunakan sebagai sumber energi. Anak laki-laki memiliki kebutuhan energi dan protein lebih tinggi dibandingkan anak perempuan karena penambahan tinggi badan dan lean body mass (cadangan lemak) mereka lebih besar dan selama pubertas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan antara asupan energi dengan status gizi pada pelajar SMP Negeri 10 Manado.
Jenis penelitian ini ialah penelitian observasional analitik dengan rancangan penelitian cross sectional study. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 10 Kota Manado pada bulan Agustus-Oktober 2015. Populasi pada penelitian ini berjumlah 654 pelajar kelas VIII dan IX SMP Negeri 10 Kota Manado. Sampel yang pada penelitian ini berjumlah 248 pelajar yang diambil secara systematic random sampling. Instrumen penelitian ialah alat ukur tinggi badan, berat badan, kuesioner Food Recall 24 jam dan Food Frequency Questioner. Analisis data ialah analisis univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan antara asupan energi dengan IMT/U (p<0,05). Sebagian besar responden termasuk pada kategori status gizi IMT/U normal yaitu berjumlah 197 pelajar (79%) dan status gizi berdasarkan TB/U normal berjumlah 242 pelajar (98%). Selain itu didapatkan sebanyak 196 pelajar (79%) memiliki asupan energi yang baik.
