ABSTRACT
Pains caused by mechanical stimuli, chemical or physical cause damage tissues. Sunflowers (Helianthus annuus L) contains flavonoids potentially to reduce pains. This research aims to testing the analgesic effects of sunflower extract at dosages of 0.358 g/kg, 0.717 g/kg and 1,434 g/kg on white mice males (Mus muculus). The subject are 15 white mice males (Mus muculus) which divided into 5 groups, they are negative control (CMC), the positive control (Mefenamic acid) and treatment group (sunflower extract). Analgetic effects testing treated by giving pain stimuli to the mice in terms of heat stimuli of 550C temperature. Mice responses that observed are movements of licking back legs. The observation took one minute. The observation did before and after giving the testing substances, periodically giving at 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes. The result shows that sunflower extracts of 0.358 g/kg, 0.717 g/kg and 1,434 g/kg have analgesic effects only at dosages of 0.358 g/kg to the white mice. It concluded that the extract of sunflower has analgesic effects to the white male mice by thermal induced.

Nyeri disebabkan oleh rangsangan mekanis, kimiawi atau fisis sehingga dapat menyebabkan kerusakan pada jaringan. Bunga Matahari (Helianthus annuus L) mengandung flavanoid yang berpotensi untuk digunakan secara empiris mengurangi rasa nyeri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efek analgetik dari ekstrak bunga matahari dengan dosis 0,358 g/kgBB, 0,717 g/kgBB dan 1,434 g/kgBB pada mencit putih jantan (Mus muculus). Subjek penelitian ini ialah 15 ekor mencit jantan putih (Mus muculus) yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok yaitu kontrol negatif (CMC), Kelompok kontrol positif (Asam mefenamat) dan kelompok perlakuan (ekstrak bunga matahari). Pengujian efek analgetik dilakukan dengan cara memberikan rangsangan rasa nyeri pada hewan uji berupa rangsangan panas dengan suhu 550 C. Respon mencit yang diamati yaitu berupa gerakan menjilat kaki belakang atau melompat. Pengamatan dilakukan selama 1 menit. Pengamatan dilakukan sebelum pemberian zat uji, sesudah pemberian zat uji kemudian berturut-turut pada menit ke-30, 60, 90 dan 120. Hasil penelitian menunjukan ektrak bunga matahari dengan 0,358 g/kgBB, 0,717 g/kgBB dan 1,434 g/kgBB memiliki efek analgetik pada mencit putih hanya pada dosis 0,358 g/kgBB. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak bunga matahari memiliki efek analgetik pada mencit jantan putih yang di induksi secara termik.
