ABSTRACT
The drilling well is one of the sources study about water it was supply for people who lives in rural and uban areas. The driliing wells provide water from soil layers that are relatively close to the soil surface, therefore easily contaminated by seepage from manure humans, animals, as well as for domestic households. The Purpose of this study was to to describe the bacteriological quality and physical condition of the wells in the Manembo- Nembo village, neighborhood III District of Bitung in 2015. Methods: This research is a descriptive survey. In this study population was divided into the 15 drilling wells, and the sample size in this study is total population of 15 drilling wells. The result of the study, the bacteriological quality of the 15 wells in the Manembo village, neighborhood III, District of Bitung and physical conditions which include the location of the drilling well, the drilling well lining and floor of the drilling wells doesn’t meet health requirement. Conclusion: that the quality of bacteriological and physical conditions of the drilling wells are not eligible. Suggestion: Through of this research, necessary to do some treatment for the water of the drilling well that are not qualified by the addition of chlorine and should be made an example of making the drilling wells that meet health requirements.

ABSTRAK
Sumur gali merupakan salah satu sumber penyediaan air bersih bagi masyarakat di pedesaan maupun perkotaan. Sumur gali menyediakan air yang berasal dari lapisan tanah yang relatif dekat dengan permukaan tanah, oleh karena itu mudah terkontaminasi melalui rembesan yang berasal dari kotoran manusia, hewan, maupun untuk keperluan domestik rumah tangga. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan kualitas bakteriologis dan kondisi fisik sumur gali di Lingkungan III Kelurahan Manembo- Nembo Tengah Kecamatan Matuari Kota Bitung. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah survei deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini terbagi menjadi populasi sumur gali yakni 15 sumur gali , dan jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini adalah total populasi.Hasil. Hasil penelitian, kualitas bakteriologis dari 15 sumur gali di Lingkungan III Kelurahan Manembo – Nembo Tengah Kecamatan Matuari Kota Bitung dan kondisi fisik yang meliputi lokasi sumur, dinding sumur, bibir sumur dan lantai sumur tidak memenuhi syarat kesehatan. Kesimpulan: Disimpulkan bahwa kualitas bakteriologis dan kondisi fisik sumur gali tidak memenuhi syarat. Saran: Perlu dilakukan pengolahan air sumur yang tidak memenuhi syarat dengan penambahan kaporit dan sebaiknya dilakukan contoh pembuatan sumur gali yang memenuhi syarat kesehatan.
