The review’s objective is to initiate pharmacists with motivational interviewing as an approach to involve patients in discussions about medication adherence. Motivational interviewing has established as an intervention strategy for addiction management, change in lifestyle behaviors, and adherence to prescribed medications and other treatments. Pharmacist-led motivational interviewing can investigate factors associated with poor adherence to treatment, assess patient ambivalence and/or resistance, and educate patients to encourage treatment-adherent behaviors.
Pharmacists can held motivational interviewing to improve patient’s problem solving skill in type 2 diabetes management, mostly self-management of patients with poor long-term glycemic control.

Ulasan ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan kepada para apoteker mengenai wawancara motivasi, yang merupakan salah satu cara untuk melibatkan pasien dalam diskusi tentang kepatuhan terhadap pengobatan. Wawancara motivasi merupakan salah satu strategi intervensi untuk penatalaksanaan kecanduan, perubahan perilaku gaya hidup, dan kepatuhan terhadap obat yang diresepkan dan perawatan lainnya. Wawancara motivasi dapat digunakan apoteker untuk menyelidiki faktor yang terkait dengan ketidakpatuhan terhadap pengobatan, menilai ambivalensi (keraguan) pasien dan/atau resistensi, dan mendidik pasien untuk mempromosikan perilaku patuh terhadap pengobatan.
Apoteker dapat menggunakan wawancara motivasi untuk membantu pasien mengatasi masalah terkait pengelolaan diabetes melitus (DM) tipe 2, terutama pasien dengan kontrol glikemik jangka panjang yang buruk.
