ABSTRACT
Traditionally, breadfruit leaves are used to treat arthritis as a disease that attacks the joints and limbs, especially the bones, joints, muscles and spine that cause pain and stiffness. The purpose of this study was to test the analgesic effects of ethanol extract of leaves of breadfruit on male rats wistar strain (Rattusnorvegicus).A total of 15 male rats wistar strain were divided into 5 groups, namely the negative control group, positive control group, the group of ethanol extract of leaves of breadfruit dose of 0.19g / 200g of body weight (BW), the dose of 0.38g / 200g of BW and 0.76g / 200g of BW.Number of responses of mice against the pain stimuli was evaluated before administrations of the test solution to observethe comparison before and after the administration of the test solution. Response changes in mice can be observed from minutes of 30, 60, 90 and 120, respectively, and after administration of an ethanol extract of leaves of breadfruit which prepared in each treatment group.Data were analyzed statistically with one-way ANOVA followed by LSD test to see the significant difference between treatments. The results showed that ethanol extracts of leaves of breadfruit with a dose of 0.19g / 200g BW, the dose of 0.38g / 200g BW and 0.76g / 200g BW has analgesic effects on male rats wistar strain.
