AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN FRAKSI FENOLIK DARI EMPULUR BATANG SAGU BARUKÂ (ARENGA MICROCARPA)

ABSTRACT
The objectives of this research was to determine the antioxidant activity of the phenolic fraction of sago baruk (Arenga microcarpa). Sago baruk extracted for 2 hours used 80 % ethanol and was fractination used  ethyl acetate, n-butanol, and ethanol. The total fenolic compounds analyzis and determination of free radical scavenger activity used DPPH method. Analysis of total phenolic compounds showed fractionation with ethyl acetate I has the highest value to wit 53,77 %, followed by ethyl acetate fraction (39,79%), ethyl acetate fraction II (31,93) %, ethanol extract (18,67%), butanol fractions (15,91 %), and ethanol fraction (4,79%). Results of the determination of free-radical scavengers activity using DPPH (1,1- diphenyl-2-picrylhidrazil) is ethyl acetate fraction has the highest antioxidant activity value to wit 77,58 %, followed by ethyl acetate fraction (61.22%), ethyl acetate fraction II (33,17%), extract ethanol (18,22 %), butanol fraction (15,91%), ethanol fraction (4,68%). The result concluded ethyl acetate fraction sago baruk has phenolic compounds and has ability as antioxidant

ABSTRAK
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan aktivitas antioksidan fraksi fenolik dari empulur batang sagu baruk (Arenga microcarpa). Empulur batang sagu baruk diekstraksi selama 2 jam menggunakan pelarut etanol 80% dan difraksinasi dengan etil asetat, n-butanol dan etanol. Ekstrak yang didapat ditentukan kadar total fenolik dan aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH (1,1- diphenyl-2-picrylhidrazil). Analisis kandungan total fenolik menunjukkan fraksinasi dengan etil asetat I yaitu 53,77%, diikuti fraksi etil asetat II (31,93%), ekstrak etanol (18,67%), fraksi butanol (15,91%), dan fraksi etanol (4,79%). Hasil dari penentuan aktivitas penangkal radikal bebas menggunakan metode DPPH yaitu  etil asetat I memiliki nilai aktivitas antioksidan yang paling tinggi yaitu 77,58%, fraksi etil asetat II (61,22%), ekstrak etanol (18,22%), fraksi butanol (15,91%), fraksi etanol (4,68%). Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan fraksi etil asetat empulur batang sagu baruk memiliki kandungan fenolik yang berperan sebagai antioksidan.
