ABSTRACT
Cyperus rotundus contains several secondary metabolites. In previous studies of plants containing alkaloid, flavonoid and saponin could be used as larvicide. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of Cyperus rotundus extract as larvacide and look for the value of Lethal Concentration 50% (LC50) of Cyperus rotundus extract as larvicide on Culex sp. Cyperus rotundus were extracted by maceration method using 95% ethanol. After that phytochemical screening was carried out and testing larvicidal activity on Culex sp. Result showed that the secondary metabolite was alkaloids, flavonoids and saponins. The LC50 value of the Cyperus rotundus extract as larvacide on Culex sp larvae in each sample was 0.291% w/v, 0.335% w/v, 0.305% w/v. Conclusion of this study was stated that Cyperus rotundus extract contains alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin and had larvicidal activity. The LC50 value of Cyperus rotundus extract on the death of Culex sp larvae was an average of 0.311% w/v.

ABSTRAK
Umbi rumput teki (Cyperus rotundus L.) memiliki kandungan beberapa senyawa metabolit sekunder. Pada penelitian terdahulu tanaman yang mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder golongan alkaloid, flavonoid dan saponin dapat digunakan sebagai larvasida. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi ekstrak umbi rumput teki sebagai larvasida dan mencari nilai Lethal Concentration 50% (LC50) dari ekstrak umbi rumput teki sebagai larvasida pada larva nyamuk Culex sp. Umbi teki diesktraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 95%. Setelah itu dilakukan skrining fitokimia dan pengujian aktivitas larvasida pada hewan uji berupa larva nyamuk Culex sp. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kandungan metabolit sekunder umbi teki adalah alkaloid, flavonoid dan saponin. Nilai LC50 dari ekstrak umbi rumput teki sebagai larvasida pada larva nyamuk Culex sp pada masing-masing sampel adalah 0,291% b/v, 0,335% b/v, 0,305% b/v. Kesimpulan penelitian menyatakan bahwa ekstrak umbi teki mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid dan saponin serta mempunyai aktivitas sebagai larvasida. Nilai LC50 ekstrak umbi teki terhadap kematian larva nyamuk Culex sp rata-rata sebesar 0,311% b/v.
