Uji Toksisitas Ekstrak Etanol Bunga Kamboja Kuning (Plumeria alba L.) dengan Menggunakan Metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT)

Indonesia memiliki keanekaragaman tanaman yang sangat berlimpah sehingga banyak masyarakat menggunakan tanaman sebagai pengobatan trasdisional, yaitu salah satunya tanaman kamboja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan fitokimia dan aktivitas sitotoksik dari ekstrak etanol bunga kamboja kuning (Plumeria alba L.) terhadap larva udang Artemia salina Leach. Proses ekstraksi menggunakan pelarut etanol dan diuji secara kualitatif terhadap alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, saponin dan steroid/triterpenoid. Uji sitotoksik menggunakan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) dengan konsentrasi larutan uji 1000 µg/mL, 500 µg/mL, 250 µg/mL, 125 µg/mL, 62,5 µg/mL dan 31,25 µg/mL. Hasil uji fitokima menunjukkan bahwa sampel mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, tanin maupun triterpenoid dan tidak mengandung senyawa steroid. Hasil uji sitotoksik menunjukkan bahwa sampel bersifat toksik dengan nilai LC50 301,38 µg/mL. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sampel  mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, tanin dan triterpenoid dan bersifat toksik terhadap larva udang Artemia Salina Leach sehingga dapat dikembangkan sebagai obat antikanker.
