ABSTRACT
Contraceptives injection consisted of two types namely combination injections (one month) and progestin injections (three months). There are side effects from the use of injectable contraceptive such us Amenorea (no bleeding), queasy vomiting, dizziness/headache, changes in body weight, and breast pain and condition that require special attention such as patients with high blood pressure, patients with diabetes, patients using epilepsy medicine, tuberculosis medicine. This research aiming to determine the use of injectable contraceptives, identify side effects that arise and the factors that influence the use of injectable contraceptives. This research is a kind of descriptives research with using data collection in face to face interview. This research conducted on 62 respondent injectable contraceptives users. The result showed type of contraception namely 3 months injection of 50 respondents (80,65%) and 1 months injection of 12 respondents (19,35%). There are 7 respondents (11,29%) had a history of high blood pressure. And a total of 2 respondents (3,23%) had a history of diabetes. The side effect of the most experienced that is a total of 50 respondents of the 62 respondents (80,65%) had changes in their body weight and 45 respondents of the 62 respondents (72,58%) had Amenorea (no bleeding). The factors affecting the use and choice of injectable contraceptives is the side effect that arise, most users injecting age from 20 to 35 years old with a frequency of 35 respondents (56,45%) and the range of costs as much as 4 respondents (6,45%) considered expensive costs.

Kontrasepsi suntikan terdiri dari 2 jenis yaitu suntikan kombinasi (1 bulan) dan suntikan progestin (3 bulan). Terdapat efek samping dari penggunaan kontrasepsi suntik yaitu Amenorea (tidak haid), mual, muntah, pusing/sakit kepala, perubahan berat badan, dan nyeri payudara. Terdapat juga keadaan yang memerlukan perhatian khusus seperti pasien tekanan darah tinggi, kencing manis, pasien yang menggunakan obat epilepsi, obat tuberkulosis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ketepatan penggunaan kontrasepsi suntik, mengidentifikasi efek samping yang timbul dan faktor yang mempengaruhi penggunaan kontrasepsi suntik. Penelitian ini berupa penelitian deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data secara wawancara tatap muka. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 62 responden pengguna kontrasepsi suntik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jenis kontrasepsi yang digunakan yaitu suntikan 3 bulan sebanyak 50 responden (80,65%) dan suntikan 1 bulan sebanyak 12 responden (19,35%). Terdapat 7 responden(11,29%) mempunyai riwayat penyakit tekanan darah tinggi. Sebanyak 2 responden (3,23%) mempunyai riwayat kencing manis (Diabetes melitus). Efek samping yang paling banyak dialami yaitu perubahan berat badan sebanyak 50 responden dari 62 responden (80,65%) dan Amenorea (tidak haid) 45 responden dari 62 responden (72,58%). Faktor yang mempengaruhi penggunaan dan pemilihan kontrasepsi suntik yaitu efek samping yang timbul, umur pengguna suntik terbanyak berusia 20-35 tahun dengan frekuensi 35 responden (56,45%), dan keterjangkauan biaya sebanyak 4 responden (6,45%) menganggap biaya yang dikeluarkan mahal.
