PENGARUH VARIASI CAMPURAN MEDIA PENDINGIN TERHADAP KEKASARAN PERMUKAAN BENDA KERJA PADA PEMBUBUTAN BAJA KARBON RENDAH
Abstract
The influence of variations in cooling media mixtures on the surface roughness of workpieces in low carbon steel turning has become a significant focus of research in the manufacturing industry. This research aims to analyze the effect of variations in coolant mixture on the surface roughness of workpieces in the low carbon steel turning process. The research method used is an experiment utilizing the KNUTH DM 1000 lathe in the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory of Unsrat.
The research results indicate that the surface roughness of the workpiece is influenced by variations in the coolant mixture, with the lowest surface roughness data found in a 1:20 coolant mixture. A third-order polynomial regression analysis shows that 98.4% of the variation in the coolant mixture affects the surface roughness of the test specimen. This result makes a significant contribution to the selection of the appropriate machining parameters to produce products with good surface roughness quality.
