About the Journal

The Applied Agroecotechnology Journal (Jurnal Agroekoteknologi Terapan) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Faculty of Agriculture, Sam Ratulangi University, Manado 95115. The journal serves as a vital platform for researchers, academicians, and practitioners to disseminate original research articles, evaluations, and innovations related to applied agricultural science and technology.

Our primary objective is to publish accumulated research results that contribute to the advancement of sustainable agriculture. The journal specifically focuses on the integration of biological, physical, technological, and socio-economic sciences in agricultural systems. The core areas encompass: Agronomy and Horticulture, Soil Science and Land Resource Management, Plant Protection, Applied Agricultural Technology, and Agricultural Socio-Economics & Agrotourism.

The peer review process of the journal employs a strict Double-Blind Peer Review system. This means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from each other throughout the review process to ensure an objective and unbiased assessment.

Upon submission, manuscripts undergo an initial screening which includes a rigorous similarity check using Turnitin. Manuscripts must have a similarity index of strictly below 18% to proceed. Articles that pass this desk evaluation are then assigned to one or more independent expert reviewers who possess alignment based on the substance and focus within the field of applied agricultural science.

This process ensures freedom from scientific misconduct, such as sloppy research, scientific fraud (including duplication and plagiarism), and data falsification. The review process typically takes 1 to 2 months. Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the editorial team will determine the final outcome: acceptance, rejection, or a request for revisions.

This journal provides immediate access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global knowledge exchange.

Our open access policy is in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful non-commercial purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author, provided that proper attribution is given under the Creative Commons License.
