Sumberdaya perikanan yang sudah dikenal ekonomis penting adalah dari kelas Chepalopoda; yang jenisnya terdiri dari cumi-cumi (squid) Loligo indica dan Loligo chinensis, sotong (cutilefish) dan gurita (octopus). Tetapi masyarakat lokal sering menyebut squid dengan cutilefish sebagai cumi-cumi atau suntung.  Penangkapan cumi-cumi oleh nelayan di perairan Sulawesi Utara biasanya menggunakan teknik memancing secara horizontal atau squidtrolling. LED atau light emitting diode Merupakan komponen elektronik yang sudah tidak asing lagi di kehidupan manusia saat ini. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Mengetahui jenis lampu LED mana yang baik digunakan oleh nelayan dalam pemperoleh hasil tangkapan cumi dan Mengidentifikasi hasil tangkapan dan factor-faktor lingkungan yang mempengaruhi pengoperasian pancing cumi. Teknik analisa data yang digunakan dalam mengolah data hasil penelitian adalah menggunakan uji statistic. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa t hitung = 0,89≤t tabel 0,05;6 = 2,447; sehingga menerima H0 dan menolak H1. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pancing cumi yang menggunakan LED Syringe, memberikan hasil tangkapan yang lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan pancing cumi yang menggunakan LED depp drop. Tetapi hasil analisis menyatakan bahwa jumlah tangkapan kedua jenis LED tersebut tidak berbeda nyata.

Fishery resources that are known to be economically important are from the Chepalopoda class; which types consist of the squid (squid) Loligo indica and Loligo chinensis, cuttlefish (cutilefish) and octopus (octopus). But local people often refer to squid with cutilefish as squid or suntung. Catching squid by fishermen in North Sulawesi waters usually uses horizontal fishing techniques or squidtrolling. LED or light emitting diode is an electronic component that is familiar in human life today. So this study aims to determine which types of LED lights are good for fishermen to use in obtaining squid catches and identify catches and environmental factors that affect the operation of squid fishing rods. The data analysis technique used in processing the research data was using statistical tests. The analysis result shows that t count = 0.89≤t table 0.05; 6 = 2.447; so it accepts H0 and rejects H1. The results showed that squid fishing rods using LED Syringe provide more catch than squid fishing rods using LED depp drop. However, the results of the analysis stated that the number of catches for the two types of LEDs was not significantly different.
