Abstract: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder significantly impacting health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Psychological disturbances such as anxiety and depression are common in Parkinson's disease patients, affecting their dependence on care, occupational disruptions, and social functions. This literature review study examines the correlation between anxiety, depression, and HRQoL in Parkinson's disease patients. Analysis was conducted through literature search from various sources with predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study reveals a negative correlation between anxiety and depression and HRQoL in Parkinson's disease patients. These symptoms have a greater impact on HRQoL than motor symptoms. In conclusion, anxiety and depression play a crucial role in decreasing the quality of life of patients with Parkinson's disease. Effective management of these conditions is important to improve HRQoL in the patients.
