Abstract: Visual impairments, such as refractive errors, can reduce quality of life. The increasing use of gadgets, especially among students, is often linked to visual disturbances due to blue light exposure. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between blue light exposure from gadgets and visual acuity among class of 2021 medical students at Universitas Sam Ratulangi. This was an observational and analytical study with a cross-sectional design. Data were collected using questionnaires and Snellen chart, and were analyzed with the Fisher’s Exact Test at a 0.05 significance level. The results showed that the majority of respondents (98%) had high durations of blue light exposure. Normal visual acuity in the right eye was found in 46% of respondents, while normal visual acuity in the left eye was observed in 48%. The Fisher’s exact test showed a p-value of 1.000 for the relationships between blue light exposure duration and visual acuity in the right and left eyes, indicating no significant relationship. In conclusion, there are no significant relationships between the duration of blue light exposure from gadget and visual acuity of right and left eyes. Further research is needed to explore other influencing factors.
