Abstract: Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are one of the primary therapies for managing gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Inadequate dosing for managing GERD symptoms can result in prolonged discomfort and reduced quality of life. The GERD Questionnaire (GERDQ) is a questionnaire-based tool designed to aid in the diagnosis of GERD and assess therapeutic response. This study aimed to evaluate the use of PPIs based on demographic factors, dosing accuracy, and appropriate use as assessed by the GERDQ. This was a descriptive and observational study with a retrospective approach, using medical records of GERD patients in the Outpatient Department of a Type C Private Hospital for the period of January 2024 to September 2024. The results showed that most patients were aged 36-40 years (30%), married (>50%), occupation as students (33.,3%), and females (73.,3%). Accurate drug dosing was observed in 76.7% of cases. However, the evaluation of GERDQ progression could not be fully conducted due to limitations in medical record data. In conclusion, the majority of GERD patients are female, young adults, married, and employed as students or college students. Most patients received medication doses according to the guidelines. However, the appropriateness of drug use could not be assessed through improvements in GERDQ
