Sistem Informasi Akademik Berbasis Mobile Web Menggunakan Pendekatan Metodologi RAD (Studi Kasus : Universitas Sam Ratulangi)

Abstract

Abstract - Information technology has been a common goods. Smartphone as a Mobile Device is one of the technologies that currently used by people because of the advantages for obtaining information in mobile ways. Academic Information System is an information system that provides information related to academic activities.

Academic Information Systems of Sam Ratulangi University is a web-based information systems. However, the process of accessing information may be consuming a little more time for typing the website address of academic portal in the browser. More over, the user interface of the system is not designed for mobile access.

Mobile Web Academic Information System is an information system built of Hybrid App and Webview concept because of the advantages of multiplatform development, but in this thesis application bulit for Android devices. Based on the scope of the research, the analyse of software development of mobile web academic information system is using Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology.

Analysis and design of the system has generated a Mobile Web Academic Information System for Android platform that provide students needs of academic information, such as Student Profiles, Courses Schedule Information, Course Selection Form and Course Result.

Abstrak - Teknologi informasi telah menjadi sebuah kebutuhan bagi masyarakat saat ini. Smartphone merupakan teknologi yang saat ini banyak dipilih masyarakat karena keunggulannya dalam pengaksesan informasi secara mobile. Sistem Informasi Akademik merupakan sistem informasi yang menyediakan informasi yang berhubungan dengan kegiatan akademik yang ditempuh.

Sistem Informasi Akademik pada Universitas Sam Ratulangi merupakan sistem informasi berbasis web. Namun proses pengaksesan informasinya dinilai sedikit memakan waktu karena harus mengetikkan alamat website portal akademik pada browser serta user interfacenya yang kurang efektif untuk mobile access.

Sistem Informasi Akademik Berbasis Mobile Web merupakan sistem informasi yang dibangun dengan menerapkan konsep Hybrid App dan Webview karena kemudahannya dalam pengembangan multiplatform. Dalam tugas akhir ini penerapannya dibatasi untuk perangkat Android. Berdasarkan ruang lingkup penelitian, analisa perancangan sistem informasi akademik berbasis mobile web ini menggunakan metodologi Rapid Application Development (RAD).

Proses analisa dan perancangan sistem tersebut menghasilkan suatu Sistem Informasi Akademik Berbasis Mobile Web yang berjalan pada platform Android yang dapat menampilkan informasi akademik yang dibutuhkan mahasiswa antara lain seperti profil mahasiswa, informasi dan jadwal mata kuliah, pengisian Kartu Rencana Studi serta informasi Kartu Hasil Studi dan Transkrip Nilai.
