Design of Game-Based Learning Media Using the Scratch Application

Abstract — The design of Game-based learning media using the Scratch application is based on the results of interviews with teachers at SMA N 1 Junjung Sirih regarding the conventional learning model used, low student learning motivation. and have not optimized the use of learning media using technology. So learning looks monotonous and it is difficult to understand the material. The aim of this research is to produce Game-based learning media so that it produces valid, practical and effective learning media. This research uses the R&D (Research and Development) research method with development research using the 4D development model, namely Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. The results of research on Game-based learning media products by testing product validity resulted in an average V value of 0.85 which was stated in the "valid" category, for the product practicality test the figure was 0.92 with a "very high" value. practicality category in the effectiveness test. Tested on 15 students, the figure was 0.91, which states that the Game-based learning media design is "very effective" to use. Game-based learning media produces an effective learning process and makes it easier for students in the learning process so as to achieve learning targets.

Abstrak — Perancangan media pembelajaran berbasis permainan menggunakan aplikasi Scratch didasarkan pada hasil wawancara dengan guru di SMA N 1 Junjung Sirih mengenai model pembelajaran yang digunakan masih konvensional, rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa. dan belum mengoptimalkan penggunaan media pembelajaran dengan menggunakan teknologi. Sehingga pembelajaran terlihat monoton dan sulit memahami materi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan media pembelajaran berbasis permainan sehingga menghasilkan media pembelajaran yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian R&D (Research and Development) dengan penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model pengembangan 4D yaitu Define, Design, Develop dan Disseminate. Hasil penelitian produk media pembelajaran berbasis permainan dengan uji validitas produk sehingga diperoleh nilai rata-rata V sebesar 0,85 yang dinyatakan dalam kategori “valid”, untuk uji praktikalitas produk angkanya sebesar 0,92 dengan nilai “sangat tinggi”. kategori kepraktisan dalam uji keefektifan Diuji pada 15 siswa diperoleh angka 0,91 yang menyatakan bahwa desain media pembelajaran berbasis permainan “sangat efektif” untuk digunakan. Media pembelajaran berbasis Game menghasilkan proses pembelajaran yang efektif dan mempermudah siswa dalam proses belajar sehingga mencapai target pembelajaran.
