Peer Review Process
Journal of Agroecosystems (JA) implements a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process to ensure objectivity and academic integrity.
Each manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes the following stages:
- Initial Screening (Desk Review)
The editor conducts a preliminary evaluation to ensure the manuscript aligns with the journal’s focus and scope, complies with the author guidelines, and meets the standards of publication ethics. - Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. - Peer Review Process
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the following aspects:- Originality and novelty of the research
- Appropriateness of the methodology
- Clarity of presentation and organization
- Relevance and contribution to the development of agroecosystem science and sustainable agriculture
- Reviewer Recommendations
Reviewers provide recommendations to the editor, which may include:- Accepted without revision
- Minor revision
- Major revision (revise and resubmit)
- Rejected
- Editorial Decision
The editor makes the final decision based on the reviewers’ recommendations. Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in accordance with the reviewers’ comments before a final decision is made. - Revision and Finalization
Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the editor and/or reviewers until they meet the journal’s publication standards.
The average peer review process takes approximately 6–8 weeks, depending on the complexity of the manuscript and the responsiveness of both authors and reviewers.
Journal of Agroecosystems (JA) is committed to maintaining a review process that is objective, transparent, and timely, while upholding the principles of publication ethics.
