ABSTRACT
In general the tooth serves to mastication, pronunciation and estetik. Lost tooth can cause repercussions functional, systemic and emotional. In fact not all those who have lost teeth using denture. The purpose of this research to identify the factors behind Beringin villagers in Belang not using dentures. This type of study is a descriptive with approach cross sectional study. The samples are 72 respondents, determined by using formula Slovin. The research results show that the economic having presentation highest as factor for people do not use dentures, with 62 respondents (86,11%), education 41 respondents (56,94%), experience 34 respondents (47,22%), time 30 respondents (41,67%), human resources 29 respondents (40,28%), Quality of healthcare 27 respondents (37,5%), distance 18 respondents (25%) and other 15 respondents (20,83%). In conclusion that is, three factors the most for people do not use denture namely economic, knowledge and experience.

ABSTRAK
Secara umum gigi berfungsi untuk pengunyahan, pengucapan dan estetik. Kehilangan gigi dapat menyebabkan dampak fungsional, sistemik dan emosional. Pada kenyataannya tidak semua orang yang mengalami kehilangan gigi menggunakan gigi tiruan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang melatarbelakangi masyarakat desa Beringin kecamatan Belang tidak menggunakan gigi tiruan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional study. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan adalah 72 responden, ditentukan dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin. Hasil penelitian menunjuhkan bahwa ekonomi memiliki persentasi tertinggi sebagai faktor yang melatarbelakangi masyarakat tidak menggunakan gigi tiruan, yaitu sebanyak 62 responden (86,11%), pengetahuan sebanyak 41 responden (56,94%), pengalaman sebanyak 34 responden (47,22%), waktu sebanyak 30 responden (41,67%), sumber daya manusia sebanyak 29 responden (40,28%), sarana pelayanan kesehatan sebanyak 27 responden (37,5%), jarak sebanyak 18 responden (25%) dan alasan lainnya sebanyak 15 responden (20,83%). Kesimpulannya yaitu tiga faktor terbesar yang melatarbelakangi masyarakat tidak menggunakan gigi tiruan yaitu faktor ekonomi, pengetahuan dan pengalaman.
