ABSTRACT

Lamtoro leaf (Laucaena glauca) contains flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, and tannin that have healing effect of burns. The content of Lamtoro leaf can regenerate injured tissue damage of skin caused by burns. This research aimed to test the effectiveness of Lamtoro leaf (Laucaena glauca) cream with concentration 2%, 4%, and 8% for heal burns on rabbit. The type of emulsion in Lamtoro leaf extract cream was oil in water. The test animals used in this research was divided into 5 groups : test groups with 3 concentrations, negative control (cream base) and positive control (bioplacenton). The burns on the rabbit’s back with diametre 1,5 cm was given treatment, and the healing effect was observed within 7 days. The result shows that cream with concentration 2% was given healed effect and more increase the concentration (4% and 8%) more effective and faster the healing procces.

ABSTRAK

Daun Lamtoro (Laucaena glauca) Memiliki Kandungan Flavonoid, Alkaloid, Tanin dan Saponin yang dapat  memberikan efek penyembuhan terhadap luka. Kandungan yang terdapat dalam daun lamtoro mampu memberikan regenerasi sel kulit yang mengalami kerusakan jaringan sel akibat luka bakar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui uji efektivitas ekstrak daun lamtoro (Laucaena glauca) dalam bentuk sediaan krim dengan tingkatan kosentrasi 2%, 4% dan 8% untuk penyembuhan luka bakar pada kelinci. Pembuataan formulasi krim ekstrak daun lamtoro menggunakan fase minyak dalam air dan hewan uji yang digunakan sebanyak 5 ekor kelompok yaitu kelompok perlakuan krim uji, kelompok kontrol negatif (Dasar Krim) dan kelompok kontrol positif (Bioplacenton). Luka bakar di daerah punggung dengan diameter 1,5 cm diberi perlakuan dan diamati efek penyembuhannya selama 7 hari. Hasil penelitian menujukan bahwa di hari ke-1 sampai hari ke-7 pengamatan luka bakar mengalami pengecilan diameter. Disimpulkan bahwa konsentrasi krim ekstrak daun lamtoro 2% telah memberikan efek penyembuhan dan semakin meningkat konsentrasi yakni 4% dan 8% yang terkandung menunjukan semakin efektif dan mempercepat proses peyembuhan.
