ABSTRACT
Chronic Periodontitis is an infection of the periodontal tissue that usually slow. The main cause of this disease periodontitis is Porphyromonas gingivalis which is a Gram-negative and anaerobic bacteria colonize in the mouth tissue. Resistance of Porphyromonas gingivalis against antibiotics allows the use of herbal medicines from natural materials into one of the alternatives in the treatment of chronic periodontitis. Soursop fruit (Annona muricata L) is one of natural compounds in Indonesia and used as a medicinal herb. The leaves of soursop fruit is believed to have a pharmacological effect, because it contains flavonoids, tannins, saponins, alakaloids, and anthochyanins as antibacterial. The purpose of this study is to find out whether soursop fruit has its inhibit Porphyromonas gingivalis. This study using pure experimental with design studypost test onlycontrol grup design. Methods used as test of bacteri are using the modification Kirby bauer paper disc. The concentration of flesh soursop fruit used in study is 100%. Control positive using Metrodinazole and control negative use aquadest. Bacteria of Porphyromonas gingivalis taken from stock bacteria laboratory FMIPA University Of Sam Ratulangi Manado. The results showed of this study indicate the avarange value of inhibition zone of soursup fruit flesh (Annona muricata L.) to Porphyromonas gingivalis of 11,3 mm. Based on this research can be concluded that the soursop fruit flesh has the inhibitory power to growth of Porphyromonas gingivalis. Inhibition zone of soursup fruit flesh (Annona muricata L.) against Porphyromonas gingivalis of 11,3 mm.
