The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of cream from the ethanol extract Soyogik leaf (Saurauia bracteosa DC) at the variation of concentration of 20%, 25% and 30%, respectively to protect the skin from UV exposure and to know the SPF value using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Extracts of 10 grams of each concentration, included in a 100 mL measuring flask and diluted in ethanol. In vortex for 5 minutes, then filtered. The solution is then in the pipette as much as 5 mL, put it into a 50 mL measuring flask, then dilute it with ethanol. The solution was then measured using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 290-320 nm. The extraction was done by maccration using 95% ethanol solvent. Observation of protection time performed on mice that is for 24 hours. The results showed that Soyogik leaves ethanol extract cream made at concentration of 20%, 25%, and 30% fulfilled the requirements of organoleptic, homogeneity, pH and spreading test. The SPF value test results are very effective in functioning as sunscreen with ultra protection > 15 with SPF value 33.92 – 38.60. Skin protection from exposure of UV light after applying cream 20%, 25% and 30% were marked with the skin having no erythema.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas krim dari ekstrak etanol daun Soyogik pada variasi konsentrasi 20%, 25% dan 30% untuk melindungi kulit dari paparan sinar UV dan mengetahui nilai SPF menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Ekstrak sebanyak 10 gram dari masing-masing konsentrasi, dimasukkan dalam labu ukur 100 mL lalu diencerkan dalam etanol. Divortex selama 5 menit, kemudian disaring. Larutan kemudian dipipet sebanyak 5 mL, masukkan ke dalam labu ukur 50 mL, kemudian encerkan dengan etanol. Larutan kemudian diukur menggunakan Spektrofotometri UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 290-320 nm. Hasil uji nilai SPF sangat efektif fungsinya sebagai tabir surya dengan proteksi ultra >15 dengan nilai SPF 33.92-38.60. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan cara maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 95%. Pengamatan waktu perlindungan yang dilakukan pada tikus yaitu selama 24 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan krim ekstrak etanol daun Soyogik yang dibuat pada konsentrasi 20%, 25% dan 30% memenuhi syarat uji organoleptis, homogenitas, Ph serta daya sebar. Perlindungan kulit dari paparan sinar uv setelah dioleskan krim 20%, 25% dan 30% ditandai dengan kulit tidak memiliki eritema.Â
