DENGAN SPONS Aaptos aaptos

ABSTRACT
Marine organisms such as sponge often live in association with marine fungi which can produce
antimicrobial compounds. This study aims to determine the antimicrobial activity of fungal isolates,
associated with spone Aaptos aaptos. obtained from the Bay of Manado against the growth of
Staphylococcus aureus, Escherchia coli dan Candida albicans. The samples obtained were the extracted
by using acetone and ethyl acetate. Testing antimicrobial activity using agar diffusion method. The
parameters measured are the diameter of the inhibitory activity formed aound the paper disc. The results
showed that extract from fungi associated with Aaptos aaptos sponge had moderate antimicrobial activity
against S. aureus, E.coli, and strong activity against C.albicans.

ABSTRAK
Organisme laut seperti spons seringkali hidup berasosiasi dengan jamur laut yang dapat
menghasilkan senyawa antimikroba. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antimikroba dari
isolat jamur yang berasosiasi dengan spons Aaptos aaptos sp. yang diperoleh dari Teluk Manado terhadap
pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli dan jamur Candida albicans. Sampel
diperoleh kemudian diekstraksi menggunakan pelarut aseton dan etil asetat. Pengujian aktivitas
antimikroba menggunakan metode difusi agar. Parameter yang diukur adalah besarnya diameter daya
hambat yang terbentuk di sekitar kertas cakram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak dari jamur yang
berasosiasi dengan spons Aaptos aatpos memiliki aktivitas antimikroba terhadap S. aureus dan E.coli
dikategorikan sedang dan aktivitas antimikroba C. albicans dikategorikan kuat.
