ABSTRACT
Â
Green Gedi Leaf (Abelmoschus manihot (L.) Medik) is an herb often used by the people of Sulawesi as food and traditional medicine, among others, for the treatment of cholesterol, kidney disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes. This study aims to analyze the phytochemical compounds contained in the Green Gedi leaves. The method used is the extraction of dry powder of Green Gedi leaves through maceration using n-hexane solvent, then analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The results showed that there were 56 possible compounds contained in the n-hexane extract of Green Gedi leaves. The analysis results also showed three possible compounds at the highest peak of the chromatogram: Ethyl 9,12,15-octadecatrienoate; 9,12,15-Octadecatrienoic acid, ethyl ester, (Z,Z,Z)- and Methyl 8,11,14-heptadecatrienoate.
