FORMULASI DAN UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI GEL EKSTRAK ETANOL KULIT BUAH ALPUKAT (Persea americana Mill.) MENGGUNAKAN BASIS NA-CMC DAN KARBOPOL TERHADAP BAKTERI Staphylococcus aureus

Kulit buah Alpukat (Persea americana Mill.) memiliki kandungan senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid dan saponin yang bersifat sebagai antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya hambat sediaan gel terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan untuk mengetahui karakteristik fisik sediaan gel. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental laboratorium. Formulasi sediaan gel ekstrak etanol kulit buah Alpukat dibuat dengan menggunakan basis Na-CMC 3%, 4% dan Karbopol 0,5%, 1,5%. Uji antibakteri sediaan gel ekstrak etanol kulit buah Alpukat menggunakan metode sumuran terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus menghasilkan diameter zona hambat pada basis Na-CMC 3% (27,3 mm), Na-CMC 4% (26,3 mm), Karbopol 0,5% (28 mm), dan Karbopol 1,5% (27,1 mm). Gel dengan zona hambat tertinggi dilanjutkan dengan pengujian fisik. Hasil pengujian fisik sediaan gel memenuhi persyaratan organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, daya lekat dan daya sebar. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sediaan gel ekstrak etanol kulit buah Alpukat menggunakan basis Na-CMC dan Karbopol memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang sangat kuat dan memenuhi persyaratan karakteristik fisik sediaan.Downloads
