IDENTIFIKASI GENUS JAMUR FUSARIUM YANG MENGINFEKSI ECENG GONDOK (Eichhornia crassipes) DI DANAU TONDANO

ABSTRACT
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) is an very important annual aquatic weeds. This weed is presisten and its population will grow very rapidly in freshwater habitats. This study aims to identify the Fusarium fungus that can infect the water hyacinth in Lake Tondano. Fusarium fungi can naturally infect plants that cause desease in plants. Fusarium fungi were isolated from the leaves and stem of infected water hyacinth. Typical symptoms due to Fusarium infection characterized by leaf yellowing, wilting occurrence of unilateral or whole, rootstock turns into brown, blackish or yellowish. The results of this study indicate that the number of water hyacinth plants that show symptoms of wilt disease found some isolates and macroscopis characteristics resemble Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium monoliforme, Fusarium subglutinans dan Fusarium poae.

ABSTRAK
Eceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes) merupakan gulma air tahunan yang sangat penting. Gulma ini bersifat presisten dan populasinya akan berkembang dengan sangat cepat pada habitat air tawar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jamur Fusarium yang dapat menginfeksi eceng gondok di Danau Tondano. Jamur Fusarium secara alami dapat menginfeksi tumbuhan sehingga menyebabkan penyakit pada tumbuhan. Jamur Fusarium diisolasi dari bagian daun dan batang eceng gondok yang terinfeksi. Gejala yang khas akibat infeksi jamur Fusarium yang ditandai dengan daun menguning, terjadinya layu sepihak atau keseluruhan, batang bawah berubah menjadi warna cokelat, kehitaman ataupun kekuningan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada sejumlah tumbuhan eceng gondok yang menunjukkan gejala penyakit layu ditemukan beberapa isolat yang karakteristik makroskopis dan mikroskopisnya menyerupai Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium monoliforme, Fusarium subglutinans dan Fusarium poae.
