AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN DARI EKSTRAK DAUN KAYU BULAN (Pisonia alba)

ABSTRACT
Kayu bulan (Pisonia alba) is a plant native to Indonesia, Generally this plant is only used as an ornamental plant are unwittingly have a high enough potential in curing various diseases. The potential can be partially attributed to the antioxidant activity of existing plants. The purpose of this study was to test the antioxidant activity of the leaf extract of kayu bulan (Pisonia alba). The method of extraction in this study using maceration with ethanol 80%, 60% and 40%. The extract obtained is determined phenolic content and antioxidant activity assay with DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil). Based on the results obtained in leaf of kayu bulan has a total phenolic content of 28.67 (mg / kg), 16:22 (mg / kg), 12:45 (mg / kg) to extract 80%, 60% and 40%. Based on the results of the calculation of IC50 showed that extract 80%, 60%, 40% had IC 50 values ​​respectively are 236.50 ppm, 478.12 ppm and 544.44 ppm.

ABSTRAK
Kayu bulan (Pisonia alba) merupakan tanaman asli Indonesia, Umumnya tanaman ini hanya digunakan sebagai tanaman hias saja yang tanpa disadari memiliki potensi yang cukup tinggi dalam menyembuhkan berbagai macam penyakit. Potensi tersebut diduga karena aktivitas antioksidan yang ada pada tumbuhan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak daun kayu bulan (Pisonia alba). Metode yang ekstraksi dalam penelitian ini menggunakan maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 80%, 60% dan 40%. Ekstrak yang diperoleh ditentukan kandungan fenolik dan diuji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil). Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat daun kayu bulan memiliki kandungan total fenolik 28.67 (mg/kg), 16.22 (mg/kg), 12.45(mg/kg)Â untuk ekstrak 80%, 60% dan 40%. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan IC50 menunjukan bahwa ekstrak 80%, 60%, 40%Â memiliki nilai IC50 berturut-turut yaitu 236.50 ppm, 478.12 ppm, dan 544.44 ppm.
