ABSTRACT
Pinang yaki (Areca Vestiaria Giseke) is a plant that widely grows in North Sulawesi. Pinang Yaki consists of tannins, flavonoids, hydroquinon, triterpenoids dan saponin. This study was conducted to determine antioxidant activity and total flavonoid content of soxhlet extract from Pinang Yaki (Areca Vestiaria Giseke) seed pericarb extracted by methanol, ethyl acetate and chloroform. Antioxidant activity was conducted by FRAP (Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power) methods and Total flavonoid content was done by AlCl3 method. The results shows that soxhlet extract using methanol solvent possess antioxidant activity equivalent to gallic acid was 59.33 Equivalent ag/g, Chloroform 18.8 Equivalent ag/g, and ethyl acetate 46.26 Equivalent  ag/g. Total flavonoids content in methanol extract from Pinang yaki seed pericarb was 2.57 mg/kg.
