Formulasi Dan Uji Aktivitas Paper Soap Minyak Atsiri Daun Mint (Mentha piperita) Sebagai Anti Jerawat

The terpenoid content in mint leaves essential oil can be useful as an active substance in anti acne soap, so it is very suitable for making paper soap. This type of paper soap preparation was chosen because it is more hygienic and easy to carry. This study aims to determine the optimum concentration of mint leaf essential oil as an antibacterial and formulate it into antibacterial paper soap against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This study was conducted using the well method. Mint leaf essential oil showed strong antibacterial activity at a minimum concentration of 2%. Evaluation of the paper soap preparation consisted of organoleptic tests, pH tests, free alkali content tests, water content tests, foam stability tests, and washing time tests. The results of the evaluation of the physical properties of paper soap showed that all formulations met good physical requirements. In the antibacterial test of mint leaf essential oil paper soap with concentrations of 2%, 4% and 8%, respectively, were 11.466 ± 0.493; 14.1 ± 0.655; 18.4 ± 0.608 with a strong category. Therefore, it is concluded that mint leaves essential oil can be formulated into a paper soap that meets the requirements and is effective in inhibiting bacteria.
