ABSTRACT
Prasman is one of the plants located in the eastern of Indonesia, and allegedly contains antioxidant compounds. Prasman leafs is often used as a herbal medicine in the treatment of various diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the total phenolic and determined antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of prasman leafs. Extraction of this study are using a maceration method with 96, 80 and 60% ethanol. Extract obtained are determined and tested a total phenolic antioxidant activity using DPPH method. Based on the results 96% of ethanol extract prasman leafs had the highest of total phenolic 13.47 mg/L followed by ethanol extract 80 and 60% of 11.97 mg/L and 5.45 mg/L. Based on the results of the study showed that the 96% of ethanol extract had the best antioxidant activity with activity value IC50 122.77 mg/L, followed by 80 and 60% ethanol extract of 162.56 mg/L and 293.95 mg/L.

ABSTRAK
Prasman merupakan salah satu tanaman yang terdapat dibagian timur Indonesia dan diduga mengandung senyawa antioksidan. Daun prasman sering digunakan sebagai obat herbal dalam penyembuhan berbagai macam penyakit. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan total fenolik dan menentukan aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol daun prasman. Metode ekstraksi dalam penelitian ini menggunakan maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 60, 80 dan 96 %. Ekstrak yang diperoleh ditentukan total fenolik dan diuji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH. Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat ekstrak etanol 96% daun prasman memilki kandungan total fenolik paling tinggi sebesar 13,47Â mg/L, dengan diikuti ekstrak etanol 80 dan 60% sebesar 11, 97 mg/L dan 5,45 mg/L. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol 96% memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang paling baik dengan nilai aktivitas IC50 122, 77 mg/L dengan diikuti ekstrak etanol 80 dan 60% yaitu 162, 56 mg/L dan 293, 95 mg/L.
