ABSTRACT
Bronchitis is a respiratory disease caused by viruses and bacteria. Treatment used for bronchitis has been usually antibiotics. This study has aims to determine the level of sensitivity of the bacteria identified and isolated from the sputum of patients with bronchitis to antibiotics cephalosporins (cefixime), penicillin (amoxicillin) and tetracycline (tetracycline). This research was conducted by taking a sample of sputum of patients with bronchitis for isolation, identification of bacteria and sensitivity to antibiotics in accordance with the standards of NCCLS (National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards). These results indicate bacterial isolates were identified from sputum of patients with bronchitis is a species/genus of bacteria Bacillus sp, Klabsiella pneumonia, Bacteroides gracilis, Salmonella and Escherichia coli were resistant to the antibiotic cefixime and amoxicillin. Species/genus Bacillus sp and Escherichia coli to antibiotics tetracycline intermediate, as well a species/genus of bacteria Klabsiella pneumonia, Bacteroides gracilis and Salmonella are sensitive to the antibiotic tetracycline. Tetracycline antibiotics have a high level of sensitivity of the bacteria isolated from the sputum.ÂKeywords: bronchitis, antibiotics, bacteria
