ABSTRACT
Lamellodysidea sponge herbacea are marine animals that contain active compounds which activeness percentage larger than the compounds produced by land plants. This study aimed to test the phytochemical content and antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of the sponge Lamellodysidea herbacea. Extraction was done by maceration method using ethanol solvent. Phytochemical testing include tests alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, saponins and tannins. Testing antioxidant activity with DPPH method (1,1-diphenyl-2-pikrilhidrazil) measured at a wavelength of 520 nm. Phytochemical test results showed secondary metabolites contained in the ethanol extract alkaloids such sponges, flavonoids, steroids, saponins and tannins. The ethanol extract Lamellodysidea herbacea sponge has a relatively strong antioxidant activity based on IC50 values obtained at 85.10 ppm

ABSTRAK
Spons Lamellodysidea herbacea merupakan hewan laut yang mengandung senyawa aktif yang persentase keaktifannya lebih besar dibandingkan dengan senyawa-senyawa yang dihasilkan oleh tumbuhan darat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji kandungan fitokimia dan aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol spons Lamellodysidea herbacea. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi dengan menggunakan pelarut etanol. Pengujian fitokimia meliputi uji alkaloid, flavonoid, steroid, saponin dan tanin. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil) yang diukur pada panjang gelombang 520 nm. Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukan metabolit sekunder yang terdapat dalam ekstrak etanol spons diantaranya alkaloid, flavonoid, steroid, saponin dan tanin. Ekstrak etanol spons Lamellodysidea herbacea memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang tergolong kuat berdasarkan nilai IC50 yang diperoleh sebesar 85,10 ppm.
