Penyebab Kematian Mendadak di Sulawesi Utara Periode Tahun 2017-2019

Abstract: According to the World Health Organization, sudden death occurs within 24 hours of symptom appearing. In forensic cases, most sudden deaths occur within minutes or even seconds after the first symptoms appear and occur unexpectedly. Causes of sudden deaths could be any disease classified according to the body systems. This study was aimed to determine the causes of sudden deaths in North Sulawesi during the period of 2017-2019. This was a retrospective and descriptive study using sudden death data of Visum et Repertum at the Forensic and Medicolegal Installation of Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital Manado during 2017-2019. The results showed that there were 9 cases of sudden death that were autopsied. Most cases were in the middle age group of 40-60 years with a total of 6 cases, followed by 2 cases at the age of 13-21 years, and 1 case at the age of >60 years. Ratio of male to female cases was 8:1. There were 4 cases of cardiovascular diseases, 2 cases of respiratory diseases, 2 cases of central nervous diseases, 1 case of digestive system; no cases of urogenital diseases. In conclusion, most sudden death cases in North Sulawesi during the period of 2017-2019 were males, aged 40-60 years, and caused by cardiovascular diseases.

Abstrak: Menurut World Health Organization, kematian mendadak adalah kematian yang terjadi pada 24 jam sejak gejala-gejala timbul. Pada sebagian besar kasus forensik, kematian terjadi dalam hitungan menit atau bahkan detik sejak gejala pertama timbul dan terjadi secara tidak terduga. Penyebab kematian mendadak dapat disebabkan oleh berbagai penyakit yang diklasifikasikan menurut sistem tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab kematian mendadak di Sulawesi Utara periode tahun 2017-2019. Jenis penelitian ialah deskriptif retrospektif menggunakan data Visum et Repertum jenazah dengan kematian mendadak di Instalasi Forensik dan Medikolegal RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado tahun 2017-2019. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan 9 kasus kematian mendadak yang diautopsi; 6 kasus pada kelompok tengah usia 40-60 tahun; 2 kasus pada usia 13-21 tahun; dan 1 kasus pada usia >60 tahun. Jenis kelamin didominasi oleh laki-laki dibandingkan perempuan (8:1). Didapatkan 4 kasus dengan penyakit sistem kardiovaskuler, 2 kasus dengan penyakit sistem pernapasan, 2 kasus dengan penyakit sistem susunan saraf pusat, dan 1 kasus dengan sistem saluran cerna; tidak ditemukan kasus dengan penyakit sistem urogenitalia. Simpulan penelitian ini ialah sebagian besar kasus kematian mendadak di Sulawesi Utara periode tahun 2017-2019 berjenis kelamin laki-laki, usia 40-60 tahun, dan disebabkan oleh penyakit sistem kardiovaskuler.
