Abstract: Space caused by the early loss of primary teeth needs to be analyzed through clinical and radiographic examinations until the eruption phase of permanent teeth. Proper analysis can ensure that permanent teeth have enough space to grow properly, reducing the risk of malocclusion and other dental problems. Space maintainer devices can be used to maintain the available space, thus supporting healthy and regular tooth growth. This study aimed to determine the difference in the level of accuracy of space maintainer calculations using radiographic methods and tooth models in children at RSGM IIK Bhakti Wiyata. This was an analytical survey study with a saturated sampling design. Samples consisted of 10 pediatric patients aged 7-10 years. Data were obtained using a comparison of the results of tooth model calculations and panoramic radiography. The discrepancy calculation on the tooth model and panoramic radiography obtained different results, with an average difference of 1 to 1.2 cm. The average of the sums for the two data groups was -5.4 mm for the tooth model, and 5.3 cm for the panoramic radiography. The independent t-test showed a p-value of 0.140 (p>0.05). In conclusion, there is no significant difference in the results of space maintainer calculations using tooth models and panoramic radiographs in pediatric patients aged 7-10 years at RSGM IIK Bhakti Wiyata.
