About the Journal

The International Journal of Informatics, Data, and Emerging Applications (IDEA International Journal) is a scientific journal published by the Faculty of Engineering, Sam Ratulangi University, through the Informatics Engineering Study Program. It provides an international forum for researchers, practitioners, and academics to disseminate scholarly work in informatics and closely related computing disciplines. The journal emphasizes sound computational methods and contributions that advance the design, development, evaluation, or application of digital systems.

The journal is published twice a year, in July and December.

 

Focus and Scope

IDEA International Journal focuses on informatics as its principal field and welcomes manuscripts in the following closely related areas:

  • Algorithms and Computational Foundations: algorithm design and analysis, computational theory, optimization, and high-performance computing.
  • Artificial Intelligence and Data Science: machine learning, deep learning, data mining, big-data analytics, natural language processing, computer vision, knowledge-based systems, and data visualization.
  • Software Engineering and Information Systems: requirements engineering, software architecture, testing and quality, database systems, enterprise information systems, and web or mobile applications.
  • Computer Networks and Cybersecurity: computer networks, distributed and cloud computing, Internet of Things, information security, cryptography, and digital forensics.
  • Human-Computer Interaction and Multimedia: user experience, interactive systems, multimedia processing, computer graphics, and augmented or virtual reality.
  • Applied and Emerging Informatics: computing solutions for health, education, public services, industry, the environment, or agriculture, provided that the primary contribution lies in an informatics method, system, or evaluation.

Manuscripts whose primary contribution falls outside informatics and computing - including work centered solely on other engineering or disciplinary fields without a substantive computational contribution - are outside the journal's scope.
