HUBUNGAN ANTARA DIABETES MELITUS (HIPERGLIKEMIA) DENGAN KUALITAS HIDUP PADA LANSIA DI KELURAHAN KOLONGAN, KECAMATAN TOMOHON TENGAH, KOTA TOMOHON

Abstract

Kualitas hidup adalah ukuran kesejahteraan hidup seseorang secara keseluruhan baik keadaan fisik, mental dan sosial ekonomi yang dapat dinilai dengan kualitas hidup kurang baik dan baik. Diabetes melitus tipe 2 merupakan salah satu penyakit kronik yang disebabkan oleh tingginya kadar gula dalam darah, DM paling sering dialami oleh lansia.DM merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kualitas hidup pada lansia secara keseluruhan baik fisik maupun mental. Lansia di Kelurahan Kolongan 35,1% memiliki penyakit DM yang sudah lama diderita dan cukup parah sehingga 22,8% lansia memiliki kualitas hidup kurang baik. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis hubungan antara diabetes melitus tipe 2 dengan kualitas hidup pada lansia di Kelurahan Kolongan, Kecamatan Tomohon Tengah, Kota Tomohon. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian survey analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 57 responden lansia diatas 60 tahun keatas dengan menggunakan teknik pruposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner identitas pasien dan Europa Quality of Life 5 Dimension 5 Level (EQ-5D-5L) )serta alat ukur gula darah yaitu glukometer. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Kolongan, Kecamatan Tomohon Tengah Kota Tomohon pada bulan Mei-Juli 2017. Analisis bivariat menggunakan uji chi square (∂= 5% dan CI= 95%) dengan bantuan aplikasi SPSS 22. Hasil penelitiannya adalah diabetes melitus tipe 2 dengan kualitas hidup pada lansia menunjukkan nilai p= 0,000 sehingga dapat dikatakan terdapat hubungan antara diabetes melitus tipe 2 dengan kualitas hidup pada lansia.

ABSTRACT
Quality of life is a measurement of the overall welfare of someone either it’s physically, mentally, and social economy that can measured with quality of life. Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a disease that caused by the high levels of glucose in blood. Diabetes Mellitus often suffer by the elderly. DM is one of the factor that can affect overall the quality of life of the elderly either it’s physically or mentally. There are 35,1% elderly at Kelurahan Kolongan have DM disease that they have been suffer for a long time and quite severe, so that 22,8% elderly have a bad quality life. The purpose of this study was to analyzed the relationship between diabetes mellitus type 2 and the quality of life of the elderly at Kelurahan Kolongan, Kecamatan Tomohon Tengah, city of Tomohon. This study is kind of analytical survey with the approach of cross sectional method. Sample was done by using the purposive sampling with a sample size 57 elderly respondents above 60 years old. Instrument that used is patient identity questionnaire and the Europe Quality of Life 5 Dimension 5 Level (EQ-5D-5L) and also blood sugar measuring device that was glucometer. This study was held in Kelurahan Kolongan Kecamatan Tomohon Tengah, city of Tomohon from May-June 2017. Bivariate analyze using chi square test (∂= 5% dan Cl=95%) by application of SPSS 22 . The result of the study that diabetes mellitus type 2 with the quality of life at the elderly showed a p value = 0,000 that mean there is a correlation between Diabetes Mellitus type 2 with the quality of life among the elderly.
