GAMBARAN PERILAKU CUCI TANGAN, TEMPAT BUANG AIR BESAR (BAB) DAN PEMAKAIAN ALAS KAKI SISWA YANG TERINFEKSI SOIL TRANSMITTED HELMINTHS (STH) PADA SISWA KELAS 1 DAN 2 SD NEGERI 58 MANADO

Abstract

Infeksi Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) adalah salah satu masalah kesehatan global yang menjadi ancaman masyarakat dunia yang penularannya melalui tanah. Perilaku cuci tangan, tempat buang air besar dan pemakaian alas kaki merupakan beberapa faktor risiko terjadinya infeksi soil transmitted helminths. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui prevalensi dan penyebab infeksi soil transmitted helminths (STH) inpada siswa kelas 1 dan 2 SD Negeri 58 Manado. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian deskriptif dengan metode kuantitatif-kualitatif (Mixed Methods) dan desain penelitian Sequential Explonatory. Jumlah responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 32 responden dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling untuk analisis kuantitatif dan sebanyak 4 narasumber untuk analisis kualitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu kuesioner, pedoman wawancara dan alat perekam suara. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SD Negeri 58 Manado dan pemeriksaan feses dilakukan di laboratorium Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat Universitas Sam Ratulangi pada bulan Mei-September 2017. Analisis data kuantitatif menunjukkan bahwa 4 siswa terinfeksi soil transmitted helminths. Berdasarkan analisis data kualitatif, didapat bahwa siswa jarang mencuci tangan sebelum makan dan jarang memakai alas kaki di rumah, serta siswa telah memakai jamban untuk buang air besar. Sarannya yaitu selalu menyediakan sabun cuci tangan di sekolah dan orangtua terus mengingatkan anaknya untuk selalu memakai alas kaki, mencuci tangan pakai sabun sebelum makan, setelah BAB dan setelah melakukan kegiatan.

ABSTRACT
Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) infection is one of the global health issues which pose a threat to the societies, due to its transmission through the soil. Hand washing behavior, place to defecate and footwear usage are several contributing factors of soil transmitted helminths infection. This research was conducted to describe handwashing behavior, place to defecate and footwear usage of students infected soil transmitted helminths (STH) infection in grade 1 and 2 students of SD Negeri 58 Manado. This was descriptive study with quantitative-qualitative method s(Mixed Methods) and Sequential Explonatory research design. The number of respondents in this research were 32 respondents with the use of total sampling technique for quantitative analysis and 4 informants for qualitative analysis. The instruments used were questionnaires, interview guides and voice recorder. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 58 Manado and stool examination was conducted in Faculty of Public Health Laboratory, Sam Ratulangi University, in May-September 2017. Quantitative data analysis indicated that 4 students were infected with soil transmitted helminths. Based on qualitative data analysis, it was found that students rarely wash their hands before eating and rarely wear footwear at home, and students have been using toilet to defecate. Several recommendation for this case was to provide handwashing soap at school and parents must keep reminding their children to always wear their footwear, washing their hands with soap before meals, after defecation and after doing the activities.
