Microplastics are less than ≤ 5 mm in size and can be found in aquatic sediments. Microplastics hurt ecosystems. Malalayang Beach is a tourist attraction in Manado City. The purpose of this study was to identify and quantify the density of microplastics. The results of the study found 3 types of microplastics, namely fibres, fragments, and films, with fibres dominating. The results of the quantification of microplastic particles in sediment samples were that the number of microplastic particles at the observation station was 212 particles, of which 113 particles, fragments, 22 particles, and 77 particles, while the microplastic density was 141.33 particles/Kg. Microplastics in an aquatic environment harm the ecosystem of the water.
