Peer Review Process

Peer Review Policy

The Applied Agroecotechnology Journal (Jurnal Agroekoteknologi Terapan) employs a strict Double-Blind Peer Review process for all submitted manuscripts. This means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process. This mechanism is maintained to ensure an objective, unbiased, and high-quality assessment of every article.

Every submitted manuscript is independently evaluated by at least two distinct expert reviewers in the relevant field of agroecotechnology. The Editor in Chief, alongside the Editorial Board, holds the final authority on the acceptance or rejection of an article based on the reviewers' recommendations.

Review Workflow

Step 1 Initial Desk Evaluation
Upon submission, the Editorial Team conducts a preliminary review to check the manuscript's alignment with the journal's focus and scope, adherence to the author guidelines, and basic methodological soundness. A rigorous plagiarism check is performed using Turnitin; manuscripts must have a similarity index of strictly below 18% to proceed. Submissions failing this stage are rejected without further review.
Step 2 Reviewer Assignment (Double-Blind)
Manuscripts passing the initial screening are stripped of all identifying author information. The Managing Editor assigns the manuscript to a minimum of two independent peer reviewers whose expertise matches the paper's topic.
Step 3 Peer Evaluation
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript's originality, methodological validity, clarity of presentation, and relevance to applied agricultural sciences. Reviewers are given a specific timeframe (usually 2 weeks) to submit their comprehensive feedback and recommendations.
Step 4 Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers' feedback, the Editorial Board will make one of the following decisions:
  • Accept Submission: The paper is accepted without further revisions.
  • Revisions Required: The author must make minor corrections as suggested.
  • Resubmit for Review: The paper requires major modifications and another round of review.
  • Decline Submission: The paper is rejected based on fatal flaws or lack of originality.
Step 5 Revision and Publication
If revisions are required, authors must submit the revised manuscript along with a response detailing the changes made. Once the Editor is satisfied that all reviewer concerns have been addressed, the article proceeds to copyediting, layout formatting, and final publication.
