Conflict of Interests

A conflict of interest arises whenever personal, financial, academic, commercial, or organizational relationships have the potential to influence, or reasonably appear to influence the design, execution, assessment, or presentation of scholarly work

1. Responsibilities of Authors

All contributing authors are required to fully declare any real or potential competing interests that could bias their research. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct or indirect financial backing and research grants.
  • Institutional affiliations, consultancies, or commercial interests.
  • Personal or professional ties relevant to the submitted work

2. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Peer reviewers must evaluate whether any competing interests exist prior to agreeing to assess a manuscript. Should a reviewer identify any financial, professional, or personal connections that might jeopardize an unbiased evaluation, they are obligated to inform the editorial office and recuse themselves from the assignment.

3. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors must preserve complete editorial independence. Any editor with personal, institutional, professional, or financial ties to a manuscript's authors or sponsor must recuse themselves from handling the submission. In such cases, management of the manuscript will be reassigned to an independent, unbiased member of the Editorial Board

4. Mandatory Disclosure Requirements

Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal Teknologi Pertanian (Agricultural Technology Journal) must contain a formal Conflict of Interest Statement, regardless of whether a conflict exists.

  • Where no conflicts exist, authors should include the following declaration:

"The authors declare that there are no financial, personal, or professional conflicts of interest regarding the publication of this article."

  • Impact of Disclosure: Declaring a conflict of interest does not lead to automatic rejection. Rather, transparent disclosure allows the Editorial Board to implement safeguards that ensure fair, rigorous, and objective evaluation.
