Presepsi Masyarakat Terhadap Keterwakilan Perempuan Dalam Lembaga Legislatif Kota Manado Periode 2019-2024

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi masyarakat Kota Manado terhadap keterwakilan perempuan dalam lembaga legislatif dan juga mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi persepsi masyarakat tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, analisis dokumen, dan observasi lapangan dengan sampel masyarakat kelurahan Pandu dengan latar belakang yang beragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa sebagian besar masyarakat kelurahan Pandu memiliki persepsi positif terhadap keterwakilan perempuan di lembaga Legislatif di Kota Manado. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi persepsi masyarakat antara lain pemahaman akan kesetaraan gender, pengalaman pribadi, dan ekspektasi terhadap peran perempuan dalam politik. Namun, masih ada sebagian masyarakat dengan persepsi negatif, dipengaruhi stereotip gender tradisional. Persepsi masyarakat Kota Manado cenderung positif, namun masih ada tantangan terkait stereotip gender. Diperlukan upaya peningkatan keterwakilan perempuan didukung sosialisasi dan edukasi masyarakat.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to analyze the perception of the Manado City community towards women's representation in legislative institutions and also to identify the factors that influence the community's perception. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and field observations with samples of the Pandu village community with diverse backgrounds. The results of the study show that most of the Pandu village community has a positive perception of women's representation in the Legislative institution in Manado City. Factors that influence community perception include understanding of gender equality, personal experience, and expectations of the role of women in politics. However, there are still some people with negative perceptions, influenced by traditional gender stereotypes. The perception of the Manado City community tends to be positive, but there are still challenges related to gender stereotypes. Efforts are needed to increase women's representation supported by socialization and community education.
