This study aims to analyze the influence of human resource management practices and job satisfaction on employee job hugging at PT. PLN (Persero) North Sulawesi Project Implementation Unit. The research method used is quantitative. Data collection techniques were conducted through questionnaires distributed to employees as research respondents. Data analysis used Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with bootstrapping tests. The results showed that human resource management practices did not have a significant effect on employee job hugging. However, human resource management practices had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Furthermore, job satisfaction did not have a significant effect on job hugging. The findings indicate that human resource management practices are able to improve employee job satisfaction, but have not been able to directly reduce the tendency of job hugging behavior. In addition, job satisfaction was also unable to mediate the relationship between human resource management practices and job hugging. Therefore, it can be concluded that the phenomenon of job hugging among employees at PT. PLN (Persero) North Sulawesi Project Implementation Unit is more influenced by external factors such as risk perception and labor market uncertainty rather than internal organizational factors.
